Guide José Manuel provided a truly “custom” tour, answering all my questions about history, current events, and best places to eat! Including a recommendation for a great vegetarian spot, Mapa Verde—those are not super-easy to find in San Sebastián so very much appreciated. He also ended the tour at the exact spot to start the hike up Mt. Urguell instead of back at the original meeting spot when he learned this hike was next on my agenda—this flexibility to make the tour fit the visitor was great!

Our tour with guide José Manuel was excellent. For personal reasons beyond our control, we had to take this tour at the end of our three days in San Sebastián instead of the beginning and it would have added a lot more texture to the visit if we would have had the benefit of José‘s tremendous historical knowledge and tips earlier. That said, the tour began just as a local regatta was ending and La Concha Beach and the Old Town were packed with revelers from all the towns that competed. It was very fun and José was instrumental in explaining the background of that particular event as well as the history of the Basque region and the wonderful city of San Sebastián.

Our walking tour of San Sebastián was a fantastic introduction to the City. We spent a great morning with our guide, José Manuel, who is so knowledgeable about the history of San Sebastián as well as all of the interesting places to visit. We learned many things that we would not have known if we had just wandered about on our own. He also gave us some good recommendations for trips from San Sebastián and for places to eat. We would thoroughly recommend this walking tour - the 2 hours flew by quickly and at the end we felt we knew our way around. Thank you very much!

Our tour led by José Manuel was excellent. We chose a tour just for 2 people which was certainly good value for money. José Manuel had an amazing knowledge of the history and the architecture and culture of the city. We also enjoyed discussion on modern Basque politics and culture.The 2 hours flew by and we enjoyed every minute. We were given some excellent recommendations for Pinxtos bars ,which we tried and agreed they were worth a high recommendation. Our tour was great! We had a small friendly group with a chilled, informative walk around the city. The tour guide was in no rush and was happy to answer all our questions with passion and knowledge. José Manuel gave us a very pleasant 3-hour walking tour of San Sebastián with lots of historical and architectural background and context. He also shared plenty of great places where locals eat.
